How many of you folks are running 2x9 drivetrains? If so, what's your
gearing (and wheel size)?

I appreciate any info/opinions - thanks!

I've run 1x9 even for some long hilly rides, and I like it quite a
bit. Usually a 38-40t ring with a 12-32 cassette, 700x32ish.

I'll be running a 1x8 setup - 42-tooth chainring and 11-30 cassette,
700x wheels. It's a wide enough range for me in the hills.

I did 1x8 for the Rag105 - 34T up front and my largest in the back
cassette was a 32t.

I did have a 46/36 double with a 12-27 cassette, 700x28 tires, for
awhile. I was able to get up the toughest hills around here with that
low gear, but it took some effort.

I run a 50-34 up front, 12-28 out back (13-28? cant remember, and I'm
rarely on that end of the stack..)
700x32-34. I've never had to walk, even when reasonably loaded on
gravel. If I lived anywhere with real elevation, where I couldn't
just grunt up a hill, I would prolly swap to an 11-34.
