Hello all!

This list has been long in coming. When the developers set out to
attain a property last January they had no idea that the real estate
market was about to take them on one heck of a roller coaster ride.

It has indeed been a journey.

All signs indicate that the paperwork for the property will be
complete within the next week or two. The house will then undergo
renovation and remodeling for several months.

Presently, it appears that members may be able to move-in during the
winter of 2009, January or February seem realistic.

Please respond to this message with a brief introduction about
yourself.

I'll go first. :P

I'm a native Texan, scientist, mom, and teacher. Right now, I'm
teaching physics and biology at a charter high school north of St.
Paul. I really love my work, but it takes its toll.

I love the outdoors, good food, and crafting.

I've been day dreaming about returning to life in a co-op ever since I
moved out of my college co-op, the French House in the West Campus are
of Austin. (http://www.iccaustin.coop/join/french.shtml) At this stage
in my life, broken televisions affixed to my roof are merely optional,
but community meals, gardening, and conversations around the living
room are something I need in good supply.

I'm very excited about this project and the property itself. The white
spruce tree in the front yard is ancient and lords at a height nearly
double that of the house. The boulevard maples were spectacular this
fall. I am excited about watching the landscaped plants emerge from
the snow in the spring. And, of course, as as a Texan, I can't wait to
relax for the first time in the huge sauna in the basement. ;)

I look forward to meeting everyone soon!
