Join us again to educate people about EVs at the State Fair Thu Aug 21, – Mon Sep 1 (Labor Day)

Our display at the State Fair
This year MPCA wanted to highlight more affordable electrification options at the Eco Experience building so we have a Chevrolet EV (Bolt, ) and utility vehicles from EZ EV and GEM on display. MPCA will also set up their Green Garage, where they will feature EV charging options and electric garden equipment. Due to tighter budgets there will also be less shifts available so be quick in choosing your shift. All volunteers will get tickets in electronic format through email, so if you already have a volunteer account setup make sure your email address is up to date. As a volunteer, you will talk with attendees and share your experiences of driving, charging and owning an EV in Minnesota.

Let’s start with one shift per person so as many people as possible have a chance to participate. I will let everyone know later if multiple shifts will be available per person.

EV Owners Panel at the State Fair Friday, August 22, 2-3PM
We will do the traditional EV Owners panel presentation on the Sustainability Stage in the Eco Experience building. I’m looking for four panelists who want to share their experiences with the audience. Panelists will get tickets to the Fair.

MN EV Owners State Fair training, Monday, August 18, 6:30-8:00PM
During this training we will go through our display setup, provide volunteer information and discuss public engagement. In addition to our State Fair plans, we will talk about other upcoming events. This training will be done online through Zoom and you need to register.

6:30-6:45 Opening and introductions
6:45-7:45 State Fair setup and info. Discussion about some of the most expected questions and ways to answer them.
7:45-8:00 Upcoming events.

Last call!
It has been a great Fair but we still have five volunteer shifts available for tomorrow and Monday. This is your last opportunity to enjoy the State Fair in 2025. It will be a long year to wait for next August. :)
