Join us on Wednesday, 5/29 for the MNEVO meeting at the Thermo King headquarters in Bloomington. Thermo King is doing a lot of work with electrifying medium and heavy-duty trucks’ and trailers’ refrigeration setups https://www.thermoking.com/na/en/road/electrification-solutions.html . We will hear a presentation about their programs and get to see a demonstration of one of their trailers. There is a lot happening in this segment so it is great that we get a chance to hear how electrification will change things in this area too.

Meeting agenda:
5:30-6:00 Social hour at the parking lot

6:00-6:20 Opening, introductions and updates

6:20-7:10 Thermo King Electrification presentation Matt Srnec, Principal Engineer, Thermo King

7:10-8:00 Demonstrations outside

Place: Thermo King - 314 W 90th St Bloomington, Minnesota (We will gather on the west side of the building.)

Thanks,

Jukka

Just a friendly reminder about our meeting tomorrow evening at Thermo King Headquarters.

As a bonus feature, the UMN solar car team will present their car, Gaia at the meeting.  In its third year of sponsorship, Thermo King has provided the UMN solar car team with advisory, financial and materials support to build solar-powered race cars. The team celebrated the completion of its brand-new car, Gaia, last year and won second place in the cruiser car class after racing in the 2023 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (WSC) in Australia. The 23-student crew left late September to spend six weeks preparing for a one-week race across Australia with their solar car.  The two-person solar car is a cruiser car, built to be practical and similar to a prototype for a car that could be seen on the road someday.

See you there,

Jukka
