The 2026 Minnesota legislative session officially starts next week and even though EV related topics are most likely not on the top of the agenda there will for sure be EV
bills developed and introduced during this session. At this meeting we will hear from Anjali Bains, Managing Director, Transportation, Fresh Energy and John Berns, contract lobbyist with Fresh Energy on what we can expect at the Minnesota Legislature this
session. They will share information about legislative priorities, process and outcome of Electricity as a Vehicle Fuel Working Group, EV registration fee reform efforts, and how we can lay groundwork now for 2027 action. Spoiler alert: EV owners can have
an impact by reaching out to your state Rep and Senators to share how you’ve been impacted by higher EV registration fee.
After that we will follow to get some regulatory updates from Nick Haeg, Senior Associate, Electric Vehicles, Fresh Energy. There are some dockets at PUC about Minnesota Power multifamily and public charging rebates, Xcel Transportation Electrification Plan.
We will also learn what are ECO program rebates.
Join us to stay up to date and learn how you can help.
