Grade 2 schedules grade-4 cards 3 mo in the future.

    Is it 'normal' that grading it  2 'schedules'  the grade-4 cards 3 mo  in the future?
These cards were not a momentary hick-ups; I forgot them.
As a user put it: "the penalty of grading a card 0 is too stiff...".  That's why I used grade 2.
  I wish  they { the grade 4 cards graded 2 }   were scheduled 3-5 days ahead.
It happens regularly; I know  because I tag each one of Today's cards using their Grade.
The reason I  keep track of previous grade - SM2 does not work for me {short and mid-term}.
Knowing the card grade allows me to choose SMALLER new grade to reduce the next interval; I do it until the card matures.
 SO,  suggestion is: If a card was downgraded from 4-5 to '2', schedule it 3-5 days ahead.

This is certainly possible for cards you've seen a few times. Note that in this case a higher grade would have resulted in an ever higher interval. Important to realise is that SM2 never decreases the interval. This is what keeps your work load in check.

If you don't like SM2, the architecture of libmnemosyne is such that a plugin can completely rip out the scheduler and replace it with a fully customised version.
