Will Mnemododo someday be able to add/edit cards?

Note that apart from Mnemododo, there is the Android app which I wrote, but unfortunately, editing/adding cards is not on the short term todo list...

Short answer: I'm afraid not.

Longer answer:

The “Mnemogogo Architecture”
(http://www.tbrk.org/software/mnemogogo-design.html), that Mnemododo
implements, was designed for simple review-only clients.

I always thought that it was more efficient to add and edit cards on a
terminal with a proper keyboard and mouse, and fast multi-tasking (for
copying-and-pasting, downloading images and sounds, and entering and
rendering special characters). Of course, this is less true of modern
Android devices than it was in 2009.

Still, I claim there are some advantages in separating the review and
data entry phases of memorization. I would, for instance, make lists
of words while reading and then translate them en masse into the
desktop Mnemosyne client. This gave hundreds of unmemorized cards that
I would gradually work through in Mnemododo while commuting. The idea
was to make reviewing as focused and efficient as possible (100 to 150
scheduled cards a day in 30 to 45 minutes and as many new cards as
time and balanced future schedules allowed). Focused and efficient
review is for me the killer feature of Peter's Mnemosyne system. It
minimizes the time wasted playing with software and maximizes the time
spent memorizing.

For marking cards that have typos or that need improvement, Mnemododo
has a “dog ear” feature (long press on the category name:
http://www.tbrk.org/software/mnemododo.html#features). It is not as
good as being able to edit a card directly, but it works well enough.

All that said, the Mnemododo client works less well or not at all on
recent devices. The API and security features of Android evolved too
quickly for the time and interest I had available to keep up.
