Hello!

How do I set up a sync server on mac os x 10.6.8? I've tried to follow the instructions on the mnemosyne website, but I can't get past the first step:

"On that machine, go to 'Settings - Configure Mnemosyne' and in the 'Sync server' tab..."

Which settings menu is meant? I can't find mnemosyne in system settings, and in my mnemosyne program I can only find the alternative "manage plugins" under the settings heading.

Would be very grateful for your help,
a very confused and not very tech savvy,
Jacob.

Open mnemosyne and click settings there.

Hi,

Above 'Manage plugins', there should definitely be a 'configure Mnemosyne' menu option. If it's not there, I assume it's an OSX specific issue, and perhaps Patrick who created the OSX installer can help.

Cheers,

Peter

I haven't tested the sync server on the Mac myself but the option "configure Mnemosyne" is there under "Settings" in the menu bar on OS X-- just like the Windows version.

Best,
Patrick

Hey!

Thank you for your quick replies!

I'm sorry but I can't find anything other than "manage plug ins" under "settings". I took a screen shot to show you, but I couldn't upload it to the forum.

What are my options? Do I have to reinstall Mnemosyne? If I do, what will happen with my 900-something flashcards that took me a month to make? :/

/Jacob

Hi,

Uninstalling and reinstalling certainly is worth a try. This will not delete your data directory, although it never hurts to have a backup :-)
