Hi. Much as i wish my first post here wasn't to do with an error, i'd like to ask for some suggestions.
first, my situation: I downloaded and installed Mnemosyne to a flashdrive so i could take it to work with me. all worked well, i had put up about 200 cards. then, upon arriving home, i noted that all the cards had vanished. I tried to load the backup file, as suggested in the documentation, only to get the following error message:

Uncaught exception!
Traceback (innermost last)
File "mnemosyne", line 151, in <module>
File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\_init_.pyo", line 165, in initialise
File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\_init_.pyo", line 281, in load_database
File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\databases\SQLite.pyo", line 339, in load
File "mnemosyne\libmnemosyne\databases\SQLite_media.pyo", line 39, in create_media_dir_if_needed
WindowsError: [Error 3] The systemcannot find the path specified: u'backups/default-20120917-233854.db_media

since then, i've not been able to even get Mnemosyne to load, just getting that message. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it on both the original flashdrive and my hard drive, i've tried running it as an administrator, all to no avail.

Any help you can offer will be received with deep gratitude. i rather like Mnemosyne, but not being able to use it after onlu having it for a few days is a right pain.
Many thanks.

Hi,

It seems there was some corruption on your flashdrive.

I suggest you try deleting the file 'config' in the mnemosyne data
directory (where default.db resides) and then starting the program again.

Good luck!

Peter
