Hi,

For those eager to try out the new import/export card sharing format:

http://users.ugent.be/~pbienst/pub/mnemosyne-2.1-pre1-setup.exe

It also supports importing the same data multiple times, so that
authors can post updated versions of their cards, e.g. to correct
mistakes.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Peter,

I get an exception. Maybe it's because I didn't select a file, but just chose a name. I've attached some screenshots.

Bye,

Abakus

If you do open the file selector dialog, in what directory do you end
up? It's probably one where you don't have write permissions.

I will see if I can make this more robust, too.

Cheers,

Peter

C:\Users\Abakus\AppData\Roaming\mnemosyne

I do have write permissions in this folder. I just created a folder and a file there. I am on my personal computer (^^ ) at home, therefore this should not be a problem.

I've checked twice now. If I click on properties of the folder mnemosyne and choose the tab "general". There's a grey checkbox that is checked. It's called "Write protected (concerns only files in folder)". Belows there's a checkbox called "Hidden", which is white an not checked.

If I uncheck this checkbox and reopen properties it is always checked again.

I use Windows 7.

Cheers,

Abakus

(pre2)
The first time I did what unknown did (I just put "test" in "File to export to:") I got the exception.

Next I used the Browse button to choose the location and entered the filename with extension .text.
(The browser had been aimed at my desktop, but I browsed to the mnemosyne directory.)
That worked, and now the first method works too (without using the Browse button and with a filename without the extension in "File to export to:").

It looks like it needs to be told where to go on the first try.

I closed and reopened mnemosyne, and the exception came back and the above temporary fix worked again.
I'm on Windows 7.

When exporting some cards with "Cloze deletion" card type and then importing the same cards again (without changing anything within the exported cards) an error occurs every time I try this. See the appended screenshot.

Addition: I tested this with the development version (revision 1571) with Ubuntu 12.04.

http://users.ugent.be/~pbienst/pub/mnemosyne-2.1-pre1-setup.exe

Should fix the issue with cloze export, as well as the missing default directory issue.
