Hello!

I've been using mnemosyne for a few years and was able to successfully import my backed up cards when I got a new computer. This computer had to be wiped recently though, and when I downloaded mnemosyne this time it's not letting me import the files I had backed up. My only guess is that the newer version isn't compatible? If that's the case, would I be able to download the older version somehow? Thanks for the help,

Amanda

Hi,

If you go to 'file - import' you can import 1.x databases, both in the
mem format (recommended) and in the xml format.

I try to import as you recommended, however, it did not work out. the error is : the file is not Mnemosyne XML. yet, I get the file from Mnemosyne site!

Ah, so you're not importing an xml file from 1.x then. The cards you can
download from our new website are in the '*.cards' format and have
'*.cards' extension, so that is the format you need to pick in the
dropdown box.

Cheers,

Peter
