Problem with adding images (*.jpg, or *.png)

I have problems viewing images posted as questions and/or answers. The image is displayed as a tiny icon with a question mark.

I have read in the forum, but I have found not too many users with this problem. Any ideas what could cause this problem?

Just for testing purposes, can you create a new card, right-click on the text field, and choose 'insert image'? If this works, that means that there's a problem with the path in your other cards, e.g. they were not created using the method I describe above.

When I right click on a text field the option "insert image" is there. If I select an image (jpg or png). It only display a small icon with a question mark.

Hi,

Which os is this? It might help uninstalling and reinstalling, as it mean the Gui toolkit's image plugins are not installed.

yes, I just did, no solution. I even put the jpg and png into the same directory as the database. Still display an icon with a question mark

No matter where you put the original image file, after right-click and choosing ‘add picture’ the file should be copied to the media directory e.g. default.db_media. Is that the case? Make sure that directory has write permissions.

Hi Peter,

I see the db_media folder containing all the images that I have tried. I have read-only permission on that folder. I have ran the program as an admin and still can't see the images.

anything else I can't do?

I assume this is due to your system not wanting the load the Qt image plugins:

So far, I’ve encountered only 1 report of this, and I’m afraid we have not been able to solve it then…

 

I’m currently working on migrating from Qt4 to Qt5, so hopefully your issue will be solved this way.
