Indeed. In that case, Mnemosyne will download the file from the web each
time you see that card.

If you want to keep that mp3 file locally, first save it your own hard
drive. It depends a bit on your browser, but typically it's with a
right-click menu.

Then, if you want to add that mp3 file to your cards, right click on the
text box, e.g. where you type in 'front' or 'back' or 'pronunciation',
..., and select 'Insert sound'. Then, choose the path to the mp3 file
you just downloaded.

Good luck!

That is not a problem with mnemosyne, rather it is in the way your dictionary is made.
When copying the microphone like that, it normally doesn't copy the sound but the text or the picture selected.
Getting the sound may not be easy. The easiest way may be to try to get the sound is by recording while its playing on your computer. Here is a tutorial that teaches you how to do that: http://www.ehow.com/how_2264285_record-any-sound-computer-microphone.html

 Thanks Peter for your reply.
I did not ask my Q correctly.  Let's Start anew.
1.I have read your Manual; all the Help; looked thru about 200 posts on this forum and...
2.Can not add Sound files to the Media folder. I assume this is what I MUST do because when I Right-clicked to add a Sound, M-syne opened the Media folder; it was empty.
----------
  Here is what I did:
a. Found my Word in a Dictionary; there is a little microphone icon.
b. I click on Icon, it reads the word.
c. Right click on Microphone --> copy
d. try to paste it to Media folder - failed (got  a 'Scrap' file instead).
e. did other foolish things out of desperation...

 What do I do ?
3.How do you people add the Pronunciation files to Media Folder ?
4.Peter, in your older post, you said that you 'd rather updated the Manual than answer the same Q again and again.
Please add a step-by-step on how to add sound...
starting from Dictionary.

  Thank you.

I see now that I may have misunderstood you as you apparently are trying to get the word from google and not from a dictionary program. As Peter explained the process for saving the file may be a bit different for all browsers. What browser are you using?

Say you have this link to a word in the dictionary:

Right click on the link, then there should be menu appearing that says something like 'Save target as...'
Or after you have left clicked the link there is in some browsers the ability to click on 'file' and go to 'save as'.
