Latex stopped working

I had no problem with Latex up to recently.

Now it is telling me.

Are latex

Sorry, I am not sure why it sent that message.

It is very incomplete.

My message should have read that:

I entered a valid latex command on a mnemosyne flashcard. 

Instead of the latex generated image, mnemosyne is writing:

Problem with Latex. Are latex and dvipng installed.

I had no problem with latex before.

Also, if I open cmd and type latex, latex is working.

Are you absolutely sure the latex command is valid?

Can you start dvipng from the command line? 

Are you on Windows or OSX?

I am using windows.

How do I start dvipng from the command line, do I just type dvipng?

If so, it does not seem to work.

What should I do?

If you type dvipng and you don't get anything like 'command not found' it should be OK.

Solved. dvipng was quarantined by avast.
