Having trouble importing my cards to Mnemosyne on another computer

If anyone could help me out with this, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have been using Mnemosyne for just over a year now and I've created a deck with around 5000 vocabulary words. I recently bought a new computer because my old one is dying a slow death and I want to transfer my cards from the old computer to the new one before it's too late. I've tried putting the deck on a USB and importing it to Mnemosyne on the new computer, but when I hit import and go to select the file, it doesn't appear in the folder where I put it, so I can't import it.

Is there another or better method I can do to transfer my cards?

try using 'open' instead of 'import' in the file menu.
