I've installed Mnemosyne, and I want to use it for remembering mathematical formulae etc. So I need input formulae and have it presented in a recognisable format. I've been through the documentation, and it is very vague to be honest. I've installed Tex and downloaded dvipng. Don't know what to do next. Don't know where the Mnemosyne files are , they're not in the library. I'm running OSX 10.8.5. So I need instructions on what to do. don't give me a link, as I've been to most sites and I'm getting quite p****ed off with this.

Hi,

I don't have access to a Mac, so 'm afraid somebody with access to a Mac should give you step by step instructions.

But in essence, if you've installed latex and dvipng correctly, such that if you start a command line, and are able to type 'latex' and 'dvipng' to start these programs, Mnemosyne should be able to work with Latex without problems.

Good luck!

Perhaps rather than whining about it, you could document the steps you used to solve the problem so other people can be helped in future.

You should value the help you get here exactly how much you paid for it.

Perhaps you forgot that this software comes free?!
I have been following the discussions in this group for years now, and it amazes me, how demanding and rude some people can be.
If you solved the problem, why don't you give back to the community and publish the solution?

I think it is time to acknowledge the great work of the developer(s). And it doesn't stop at developing, all queries get answered within a day, down to inspection of personal and individual user databases. Where else do you get a service like that? I have numerous apps I PAID for and never got an answer when reporting a problem.

Let's be grateful, that there are people like Peter Bienstman who invest so much time and energy in a FREE project like Mnemosyne.
