I installed the mnemogogo plugin (for Mac) and mnemojojo application
(on Nokia E52) successfully, I was able to export cards from Mac onto
the memory card on the Nokia E52.
The problem is when I try to run the application mnemojojo on the
phone, I didn't see any reaction. The only way to run the application
was immediately after installation of the app (as a last step of the
installation, the installer ask if I want to run the app) and it
seemed that the app works correctly (I came through the setup
mentioned in the manual and the exported cards were displayed).
Is there any setting in the phone or elsewhere that I am missing?
Thanks for answers,
Tom
I have had a report of success for Mnemojojo on a Nokia E52. So I
would expect it to work. But there do seem to be more and more
problems on different Nokia phones after recent firmware updates.
Are you able to start Mnemojojo after rebooting your phone?
Another thing to try would be to try reducing the number of days in
the export to 4 or 5, to reduce the possibility of an out-of-memory
error.
You could also see whether your Nokia has an option (usually buried in
settings, under 'Applications' or similar) for permanently granting
read and write access to Mnemojojo.
I hope this helps.

So rebooting doesn't help?
And if you uninstall and reinstall, will it run at least one time?
This is important information for trying to understand what is going
wrong. For instance, after uninstall and reinstall the settings
registers would not exist on the first boot and thus the sequence of
operations inside Mnemojojo would be different.

That's typical for older Nokia phones. Which version of firmware
is installed on your E52 (see under the 'About' option).

Ok, that's because it's not signed (the J2ME signing process is beyond
ridiculous).

I really wanted Mnemojojo to run on any Java phone: it only uses one
non-core API (for reading and writing to the SDCARD which is
unavoidable), and it runs properly in the standard emulator and in
microemulator. But, I conceded defeat months ago after many fruitless
hours lost downloading giant (100s of megabytes) developer kits (one
for each manufacturer), after having gone through usually frustrating
registration processes, trying to get the SDKs to run on my machine
(they're all for Windows), wading through poorly managed and largely
useless developer forums (again, one for each manufacturer), and
finding that, even then, it still didn't help to resolve the problems
on real phones!
It used to be that Mnemojojo would run on most Nokia phones (albeit
with the annoyances of their security model), but sadly that seems no
longer to be the case.
I think I can still give better guarantees for Blackberry devices. In
part because their signing program is more reasonable ($25 for a
lifetime of signing for all their devices, versus $1000s for signing
one version of Mnemojojo for a small subset of devices (maybe)).
I'm afraid that none of this helps you, but I wanted to explain that
it's not for lack of trying on my part! Sorry.
Tim.
