Syncing on new computer trouble

Hello,

I got a new laptop and tried to synch mnemosyne to it through my android and kept on failing (timeout when trying to connect to server).

The weird thing is, I was able to sync with my old laptop by going to file-->sync and entering the same server as is shown on the old laptop. But I still can't sync with my android even if all the information matches.

All are on version 2.1. 

I'm completely stumped. Any help you can give?

Hi,

 

Your new machine probably has a firewall / antivirus that blocks the connection.

 

Otherwise, also make sure the IP and password are still correct.

You are correct, apparently McAfee firewall was on. Unrelated to mnemosyne, but it that useful at all?

PS - I've got about 3500 active cards and use mnemosyne every day. It's added great value to my life. Thanks!
