Hello,

I am using the latest version of Mnemosyne and I am getting a lot of errors that require me to delete the mnemosyne config in the app data roaming folder.

Its happening about once a week the error makes it impossible to start mnemosnye until the config is deleted.

Do you run it from a USB key?

BTW, if you don't run this from an USB key, please also try this version and tell me if it helps:

http://users.ugent.be/~pbienst/pub/mnemosyne-2.3-config-test-setup.exe

And if you still get an error, could you also post a screenshot of it?

Thanks!

Peter

dear Peter,
we have a similar problem on OSX 10.9.2 : mnemosyne won't start and we get this:
Error in config:

Traceback (innermost last):
File "/Applications/Mnemosyne.app/Contents/Resources/lib/python2.7/mnemosyne/libmnemosyne/configuration.py", line 186, in load
EOFError

The application won't start.
How can we fix this? Is there a way to save the data already in the application?

Thanks a lot, Yvette

Also, in the next screen we see this:

An unexpected error has occurred.
Please forward the following info to the developers:

Traceback (innermost last):
File "/Applications/Mnemosyne.app/Contents/Resources/__boot__.py", line 309, in <module>

Hi,

Solution is the same on OSX. The config file to delete is ~/Library/Mnemosyne/config.

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks a lot Peter, you saved my girl from a heart attack as she already filed hundreds of cards in the programme...

Everything on the computer is anyhow saved on Time-machine but we do not know if this also is a save way to back-up Mnemosyne files?

cheers,

Joost and Yvette

As long as TimeMachine backs up ~/Library/Mnemosyne you should be fine.
