Can someone tell me the pros and cons of the sm15 algorithm over the sm2 algorithm?
I tried reading http://help.supermemo.org/wiki/SuperMemo_Algorithm and linked pages, but I could only make it to the sm4 algorithm. Beyond that, the intuition behind the formulas used becomes obscure.
I am new to spaced repetition, and currently have 429 items (~22.5 new items per day) in my Supermemo. I am considering to switch to Mnemosyne/Anki because I need latex support (also the ability to develop addons/modify the program according to my wish).
Supermemo has proven to be great for me so far (98.31% retention), and I am afraid switching to an older version of the algorithm might affect my performance.
So, could someone kindly tell me the pros and cons of sm15 over sm2.
Thanks :)

Hi,
I don't have personal experience with sm15, but my gut feeling would be that the added complexity does not help significantly. I don't have proof, though.
