I have successfully installed mnemosyne 2.3 from .tar.gz sources on Linux Mint 13, even though it took me some time to resolve dependency issues. It works fine, except for one thing - the usual latex configuration using config.py in ~/.config/mnemosyne/ doesn't work at all. I have tried inserting some "signaling characters" into the configuration, in order to see whether it sees it at all. It didn't react. I didn't have this issue in 2.2.1 and the config.py file remained unchanged since 2.2.1. What may be the cause of my problem?

I attached config.py file, as well as tmp.tex from %my database directory%/default.db_media/_latex :

config.py
tmp.tex

I have found out the actual configuration directory was "~/mnemosyne/". Inserting the required config.py there worked. In previous version it was "~/.config/mnemosyne", as specified in the documentation. Was the default configuration directory changed in 2.3? There also were backups folder, plugin, etc at "~/mnemosyne/", that are supposed to be at "~/.local/share/mnemosyne". However I didn't run "mnemosyne -d".

Hi,

Normally, the config dir should still be in the same location as before.

However, what could happen here is a mechanism kicking in to make it easier to run Mnemosyne from a USB key: if you start the program from the command line when a subdirectory 'mnemosyne' is present, that one is used as the data directory.

Hope this helps,

Peter
