Hello everyone! I started getting too many words to review every day. Around 200/300 a day. It's getting harder to use "mnemosyne" because of the overload. So, should I start over or keep reviewing such a large number of words?

There is a reason why Mnemosyne displays a warning when you learn too many new words per day :-)

My advice would be to stop learning new words until your workload tapers off. Restarting will not be very efficient.

Cheers,

Peter

Also, you might be grading too low. Look at your retention score. Normally it should not be more than 90%, it may get lower if you loose focus while reviewing that many cards.

I see, but I have to add more than 15 words per day, because 15 isn't enough for me. I usually add 40-50 words per day.

Well, you've now discovered that 40-50 words per day is too much for you, because the reviews start adding up quickly. Even 15 words a day results in a lot of reviews -- I wouldn't suggest going much beyond that unless you have a lot of free time every day to invest in your reviews.

Either you cut down on the number of new words per day or you have to do a very large number of reviews per day. That's part of how spaced repetition systems work.

You can also do it by time, which is what I do.  Take a certain amount of time per day; I do 5-10 minutes, but whatever works for you.  Use the program for that amount of time, then stop, and don't worry about how many cards that is.    This works well for me - some days I get through all the scheduled cards and am able to add new ones, some days I am not.  But that doesn't matter, really.  What does matter is that you add new cards SOMETIMES.

It's not important to get to every scheduled card every day.  That might be better, but it is not hurting you if you don't.
