I've got a Mac running OSX 10.8.5. Installed Tex Shop. I have installed Mnemosyne 2.2.1. I want to use Mnemosyne to create cards for a maths course.

When I import cards sent to me by others, I can open them and they display the maths formulae as expected. When I edit those cards and try to preview them, I get a message "Problem with latex. Are latex and dvipng installed." The same happens when I try to create a new card.

I downloaded dvipng 1.14. I looked at the install file and ran configure from the terminal. It reported that it couldn't find a C compiler. I have X code installed, so I don't know why that happened.

I've looked through other posts, and quite frankly, they mean nothing got me, gobbledy gook. So how do I get round this? Looking at other posts, this has been an issue for quite some time and several people, so why not sort it?

Hi,

As I mentioned earlier, this needs help from someone who actually has a Mac, so I regret that I personally will not be able to help you.

Perhaps someone on this list can help you with getting latex installed on a Mac?

Cheers,

Peter
