Hello there,
I came here from the play store because I would to get mnemosyne working on my phone.

phone: Samsung Galaxy J3
Model: SM-J320F
Android-Version: 5.1.1

A crash log should've been committed via email already.
I will need some walkthrough on how to get more information but here is what I can provide out of the box.

Also is it correct that the sync server does not sync from client to server?

Hi,

Which version of Mnemosyne are you running? Did it come from the play store?

I haven’t seen a crash log through email, though… One option to get extra information is to attach your phone through USB to your desktop running e.g. Android studio to capture the logcat output.

With respect to syncing, you can sync from the phone to the server without problems.

Cheers,

Peter

Oh boy, there is a small problem, my phone won't connect to any pc so that's not possible. I'll look into how to fix that but in the meantime I can provide screenshots of the stack trace.

I tried setting up a mnemosyne client on my server so I could sync to it but when I tried nothing happened.

Cheers,

Hmm, the stack trace is directly in the C-library we use, and does not list any Java code, so I’m not sure how much direct influence I have on this.

Now I’m very confused, as I thought you had a crash immediately upon starting the program. So, how did you get to a stage where you could try syncing?

Kind regards,

Peter

Working on getting you the log.

That is a different setup and doesn't involve my phone yet.

Hi,

There’s some tips for troubleshooting syncing here:

but don’t hesitate if you have any more questions.

Sorry for the late answer but I just got back from work, is there a way I could send you the log without exposing it on the internet?
All apps seems to be logging to into that log.

Hi,

In Android Studio, you can filter on the application in logcat. Otherwise, just send the log to peter dot bienstman at gmail dot com.

Cheers,

Peter
