I am attempting to install Mnemosyne 2.4.1 (Sourceforge download) on an HP laptop running Windows 8.1. I was successfully able to install Mnemosyne-1.2.2, but anything higher than that causes consistent freezing/crashing. I have made sure to install the required libraries, and confirmed that my driver software is up-to-date. Nevertheless, whenever I launch Mnemosyne, the screen goes black and I get an error reading: "Display driver AMD driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered". The Wizard, at that point, is completely frozen, and can only be closed using Task Manager.

For reference, I am linking to a screenshot I took here, for whatever that is worth:

I'm hardly the most tech-savvy person on the Internet, so please let me know if I am missing something obvious. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I can also be reached at james...@gmail.com if more information is required.

Hi,

Have you tried with the --qt-opengl=desktop? Create a desktop shortcut to Mnemosyne, right-click, and in Properties - Target, add --qt-opengl=desktop to the path of the executable.

Cheers,

Peter
