Do I have to sync manually?

Hello,
regarding syncing:
So I have my always-on machine set up on Windows as the  server, but I am unclear how the sync works exactly (the documentation is less than specific here).
I have one more Windows machine as a client and one on Android.
Does Mnemosyne have to always be open 'as a window' or will it continue to run as a server, if I close it?
Do I have to end my review on a client by pressing 'ctrl+y, enter' for syncing my progress or is this done automatically in the background
(or on closing the window)?
What's the difference between the paid mnemosyne app in the Google play store for 3 Euros
and the free one?

Could anyone clear that up for me, please?

Hi,

You have to start the sync manually.

The server needs to be running (i.e. window open).

The free version is the only official Mnemosyne Android app, the paid one was a much earlier version that probably won't even work anymore .

(Tim, if you read this, perhaps it's time to retire your app from Google Play?)

That clears it up.
This was not obvious to me (I kinda guessed it, but that's worse than knowing),
maybe include it in the documentation or in the UI?
