Hello All,

I have recently updated my Mac to the El Capitan software and unfortunately I did not think to backup all of my Mnemosyne data before making the move.

Upon opening the application, I now have nothing... no data... no cards, :/

Has anybody else experienced the same problem? Does anybody know what to do?

For Info :
My Mac : Macbook Pro - OS X El Capitan 10.11.5
Mnemosyne - version 2.2

A HUGE thanks to any help.
-Quintino

Hi,

Just to make sure, you upgraded the OS and not Mnemosyne, right?

Your data is probably still there, but Mnemosyne can no longer find it. Mnemosyne looks for its data in ~/Library/Mnemosyne by default. Did anything happen to that directory, or did the OS upgrade somehow move the user directory to a different location? Or have you used the '-d <directory name>' command line option to select a custom data directory?

I also put our Mac packager in CC, perhaps he has more insight.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Peter,

Thank you so much for you response!
Yes you are correct, I have only updated my Mac and not Mnemosyne ( I am scared of touching the application for fear of making the situation worse).

Any help from the Mac expert would be wonderful!

I would love to be back studying as soon as possible :) Mnemosyne is awesome and I have been using it for the past 8 years. Thus this data is priceless for me :)

Thanks!

Hi Quintino

Were you able to resolve your problem? Otherwise, are you able to check the contents of /Users/Quintino/Library/Mnemosyne? Knowing what's going on with your data directory will help. We were also wondering if you were using the command line to specify a different data directory for any reason
