Hello,
I am using mnemosyne on my mac (just installed the latest version) and wanted to sync it with the android app but I do not seem to succeed.

When I try to sync I get this message on my computer : Sync failed, restoring from backup. The next sync will need to be a full sync.
I think I configured all the parameters as described in the documentation on I also changed the database I use to default.db

Any ideas on how I should proceed?
Thanks a lot,
Gabriel

Hi,

What is the message you get on your phone?

I assume this is the very first initial sync you're talking about? This can take a long time, so make sure you leave Mnemosyne running in the foreground on your phone, and make sure it does not automatically go into sleep mode.

Cheers,

Peter

So I try syncing (through the phone), then I get the error message on my computer. I click on ok and then I get the following message on my phone :
Sync cycle detected. Sync through intermediate partner. I then click on ok and the attempt at syncing stops.

This is indeed my first sync. Do you think I should try to copy the database manually through android file transfer?

No, the android sync mechanism should work just fine, but keep the things in mind I mentioned in my previous mail.

Hi,

Best to delete /sdcard/Mnemosyne on your phone and try again. (to clean leftovers from previous efforts).

Cheers,

Peter
