"The protocol X is not handled"

Hi,
I wanted to open another series of cards, and the following error message appeared: "Le protocole "X" n'est pas géré" (I'm French). (but the answer/questions went on normally)
Could anyone explain what this means?
will I lose this series of cards if I open another one?

Could you please give some more details? So you say you are opening a
new database through 'file - open'? Did you previously manage to open
this database? Which operating system and Mnemosyne version is this?

Feel free to mail me the database (*.db file) which causes problems.

Actually, I managed to find a solution in storing my cards under a new name, in another database ^^
(my english concerning informatics is very approximative, I hope it makes sens)

Nice, although I'd still be interested in the extra information I
asked for. If I know what caused this, I can perhaps change the code
so as to make sure this does not happen to other people.
