Chinese New Year Party on 2/5/2023
The School’s Chinese New Year Party is scheduled to be held on 2/5/2023 at Novi Middle School from 1pm - 5pm. Please mark on your calendar and come to celebrate!

Math Competition Update
MNCCS hosted AMC-8 math contest on 1/19/2023, 31 students participated, based on preliminary scores, Alice Wang has the highest score, Eric Jin is the 2nd place, and 5 other students (Rohan Khetan, Daniel Liu, Enrica Lu, Aiden Mou, and Ryan Yu) tied for the 3rd place.
MNCCS also hosted the third round of MOEMs (Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools) contest on 1/20/2023, 17 Div-M students and 14 Div-E students participated this round, Lucas Xue, Derek Shi, and Joshua Wu scored perfect (5/5) in this round.

2023新年伊始，MNCCS携手毕庶信纪念基金会一起揭晓第三届文化奖学金暨毕庶信纪念奖学金获得者！与往年情况不同，今年我们中文学校与“毕庶信纪念基金”基金委员会联手，为了鼓励更多的华人学生努力学习中文和热爱中国文化，对评选出的优秀学生颁发奖励。初中组由于没有同学递交申请而空缺。小学组及高中组获奖名单如下：

*密⻄根新世纪中⽂学校是重在中华⽂化教育的机构，推⼴中⽂教学和弘扬中国⽂化 是我们中⽂学校的宗旨。为了⿎励学⽣积极学习和运⽤中⽂，经校董事会和校⻓讨 论, 新世纪中⽂学校从2020年起设⽴⽂化奖学⾦并已为第⼀二届获得者颁发了奖学 ⾦。 ⽂化奖学⾦每学年颁发⼀次，奖学⾦分为⾼中组，初中组和⼩学组。奖学⾦⾦额， 获奖名单和⽐例会根据筹集到的资⾦情况和申请⼈数来最终确认。 奖学⾦评审委员会 ⽂化奖学⾦的评审和颁发由新世纪中⽂学校奖学⾦评审委员会负责，评审委员会由 新世纪中⽂学校董事会和校⽅派⼈组成。⽂化奖学⾦获得者由评审委员会通过投票的⽅式产⽣。 奖学⾦申请对象 ⽂化奖学⾦颁发对象为⽬前在新世纪中⽂学校就读的所有学⽣或者已在学校拿过结 业证⽽且⽬前正在学校参与志愿者服务的学⽣。
*“毕庶信纪念基金”的设立是为了纪念毕前校长对密西根华人社区的卓越贡献。纪念基金将致力于延续他回馈社区的传统，让每个人都能从弘扬中华文化中受益。该基金将由基金委员会管理。 该委员会由周宣菁女士（毕先生的妻子）、赵力（密西根清华大学校友会会长）和密西根新世纪华文中心 ( MNCCC ) 董事会组成。
Follow Traffic and Safety Rules on Campus
1. No Speeding (Speed limit on campus is 15 mph).
2. Full stop at stop sign.
3. Yield to pedestrians everywhere on campus.
4. No Parked vehicle at fire lane unattended.
5. No drop off in front of the LA building. Please park in the parking lot.
6. Please don't walk on grass.
7. Please don’t touch safety facilities such as fire alarm boxes.
8. Please don’t vandalize vending machines.
COVID Policy
Michigan New Century Chinese School follows the guidance of the CDC, the Federal Department of Education, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Oakland County Department of Health, as well as the local school district’s safety and risk mitigation strategies to ensure the health and safety of our community.
Students, Parents, and Teachers, please follow below regulations:
1. If students, teachers and parents are sick or begin to have symptoms of sickness, including fever, cough, wheezing, difficulty of breathing, loss of taste and smell, chills, body aches, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, nausea, etc., please do not come to school.
2. If you have been in close contact with a new COVID positive patient within 10 days, if you have no symptoms, you can still come to school while wearing a mask. If symptoms occur, please refer to item 1.
3. If you test positive but are asymptomatic, do not come to school for five days from the time you test positive. Within ten days after five days, if you have no symptoms, you can go to school while wearing a mask. After 10 days, you can go to school normally.
4. If the test is positive and accompanied by symptoms, it will be counted from the beginning of the symptoms, and after five days of isolation, if the symptoms disappear, you can wear a mask to school. After ten days, if there are no symptoms, then you can go to school. If symptoms persist, please refer to item 1.
5. If you test positive after leaving school, please inform the school in time. The school will notify the exposed classes, reminding impacted parents to pay attention to other student's condition.
6. If there is no close contact or due to positive isolation, students, teachers and parents can choose whether to wear masks according to their wishes.
密西根新世纪中文学校遵循CDC、联邦教育部、美国儿科学会及奥克兰郡卫生部的指导,以及local school district 安全和风险缓解策略，确保我们社区的健康和安全，做出如下规定，请同学，家长，老师们遵守：
1. 如果学生、老师和家长生病或开始有生病的症状，症状包括发烧，咳嗽，气喘，呼吸困难，失去味觉嗅觉，发冷，身体酸痛，头疼，喉咙疼，腹泻，恶心等症状，请不要来学校。
2. 如果10日内曾近距离接触新冠阳性患者，如没有症状，在佩戴口罩的情况下可以到学校。如出现症状，请见第一条。
3. 如果测试阳性但无症状，从测试阳性开始计算，五天内不要到学校。五日后十日内，如没有症状，可以在佩戴口罩的情况下到学校。10日后，可以正常到校。
4. 如果测试阳性并伴有症状，从有症状开始计算，隔离五天后，如果症状消失，可以佩戴口罩到学校。十日后没有症状，可以正常到校。如还有症状，请参阅第一条。
5. 离校后如果发现有Covid阳性发生, 请及时通报学校。学校会通知相应暴露班级, 提醒家长注意学生状况。
6. 如没有密接或因为阳性隔离的情况，同学，老师和家长可以根据自己的意愿选择是否佩戴口罩。

If your child is missing anything at School, please stop by the front desk and check with the student assistants for Lost & Found when school is in session.
