Dear all Teachers, Parents, and Students,

Welcome to Session 9 of classes! It is now November, and daylight savings time has ended. As the weather continues to get more chilly, let's be sure to dress appropriately and stay cozy! I am sending you all warm wishes.

1. Vaccine Available for Ages 5-11

On November 2, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), gave its final approval for children ages 5-11 years old to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccine. Seeing as the pandemic has not left us yet, vaccines help protect not only us but the people around us. To schedule a vaccine appointment, visit https://www.vaccines.gov. Let's fight coronavirus together!

2. Daylight Savings Time Ends

This morning, Daylight Savings Time came to an end. That means we all received an extra hour of sleep last night! Please be sure to set all your clocks BACK an hour. The temperature has also been dropping rapidly these past few days, so stay warm everybody!

3. The Art Hour

The Art Hour is an organization composed of professionally trained and award winning teen artists who want to share their talents and skills with budding child artists through free, virtual one-hour zoom classes and workshops every weekend. The Art Hour features instructors who have performed at Carnegie Hall, sang at the Grammy's, and acted on Disney Channel. The Art Hour would love to partner with Michigan New Century Chinese School, 密西根新世纪中文学校, to invite students to join their free online classes. Emily Liao (廖豆豆), an alum of MNCCS, is the executive director of the Art Hour! Let's support this bright MNCCS student and this organization.
