Dear all Teachers, Parents, and Students,
We are back IN-PERSON today at Schoolcraft College! After going virtual for Session 14 and taking a break for MLK Day, it's nice to be back at the school with all of the students and faculty bustling around. There was a lot of snow this morning, so make sure to stay warm and stay safe on the roads. I encourage kids to bundle up and have some fun in the snow! It might not be there for long!

1. Lunar New Year Video *ASAP
Dear New Century Parents, Teachers and Students,
Due to the state of the pandemic, New Century Chinese School has decided to make a video of the Spring Festival Gala to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
(1) Each class can design, record and submit programs related to Chinese learning with Chinese characteristics. There is no time limit for the recording.
(2) In addition to the programs submitted by each class, the school will specifically collect videos of blessings and New Year greetings from all students and families.
BLESSING VIDEO DETAILS:

BLESSING VIDEO DETAILS:
Next year is the Year of the Tiger, so the blessings should be related to the Year of the Tiger and only in Chinese. The video should be shot horizontally, and you can wear characteristically Chinese clothing, along with characteristically Chinese accessories. The background should be bright and not cluttered. Students can record the video of blessings by themselves or with family, and the time should be within 10 seconds. Please submit all videos as soon as possible so that the school can arrange them in time.

2. Shawn Zhang, New MNCCS Board Member
At a recent school board meeting in January 2022, Shawn Zhang (张向岗) was elected a school board member. Shawn has served as the key coaching staff for the MNCCS Academic Games Team for years. He has also been the Director of the math program for NCCAE, MNCCS' sister organization. We are truly grateful to have Shawn join the board to help grow both MNCCS and NCCAE as sustainable and community-oriented organizations.
The Board of Directors consists of 7 Directors, each with a two-year term, without term limits. The Board of Directors are non-paid volunteers.
