2. Minor & Elementary Team at the Michigan Academic Games Super Tournament!
Dear New Century students and parents,
The 2022 Children's Elementary School Academic Games has ended successfully.
The annual Michigan Academic Games Super Tournament opened on March 3 after a one-year hiatus. New Century Chinese School's team had a total of 31 players participating in the Minor group (third and fourth grade) and Elementary group (fifth and sixth grade). The minor group teamed up to participate in four game competitions in three subjects (math and logic, language, reading), and the elementary group participated in five game competitions.
The competition lasted for three days, and the competition time was 12-13 hours a day. The team members were not afraid of difficulty or fatigue, and they worked hard together. After fierce competition, the Minor Team won one state championship, the Elementary Team won two state championships (Equations, Onsets), three state runners-up (Equations, Onset, Linguistics) and four encouragement awards (Propaganda, Presidents).🏆
Since the pandemic, various restrictions have brought a lot of inconvenience to teaching and training. With the cooperation and support of parents and team members, the coaches insisted on online teaching, online and outdoor practice. After the pandemic situation improved, the school provided the necessary places for our teaching and training. The head coach Ye Junxiong and the head coach Zhang Xianggang of the New Century Chinese School's team often visit the classroom and training grounds to teach the team members and answer questions, and provide teaching assistance and technical advice to the coaches. Student coaches Alyssa Tang, Shanshan Ye and Katherine Chen insist on teaching the team members every Sunday. Their entertaining teaching methods are loved by the team members. The coaches of the disciplined competition team even paid for it for free. Over the past year, they not only help the team members to improve their learning, but also mobilize the enthusiasm of the students. Three times a week, they are unstoppable. Some parents of students also devoted their time and labor to this annual competition. We are here to thank you all!

The members of our elementary team are actively preparing for the National League in April. May they make persistent efforts, fully prepare for the competition, and achieve better results!
As the head coach Ben said: "The most important thing is to let children like Academic Games, stay away from devices a little more, and play more with children of the same age".
This week, the middle school team of the New Century Chinese School Competition will participate in the state competition of the middle school group. We wish them good results!
In addition, NCCAE, a sister unit of MNCCS, will continue to host Summer Camps for beginners in Academic Games during the summer. stay tuned!

亲爱的新世纪学生和家长好!
密州2022年儿童组小学组学科游戏赛（Academic Games）圆满结束
一年一度的密州儿童组小学组学科游戏年赛（Michigan Academic Games Super-tournament），在停赛了一年后，于3月3日开幕。新世纪中文学校学科游戏队在刚刚结束的少儿组（三，四年级）和小学组（五，六年级）共派出了31名队员参加。少儿组队参加了三个学科 (数学与逻辑，语言，阅读)的四项游戏比赛，小学组参加了五项游戏的比赛。
比赛共进行了三天，每天的比赛时间长达12-13小时，队员们在比赛中不怕难，不怕累，团结拼搏。经过激烈角逐，少儿组取得了一项比赛的州冠军，小学组队员们取得了两项州冠军 (Equations, Onsets)，三项州亚军(Equations, Onset, Linguistics)和四项鼓励奖(Propaganda, Presidents)的好成绩。
自疫情以来，多方面的限制给授课和训练带来了诸多的不便。教练在家长和队员们的配合和支持下，坚持网上授课，网上和户外练习。疫情好转后，学校为我们的授课和训练提供需要的场所。新世纪中文学校学科游戏组的总教练叶俊雄和总负责张项岗经常亲临课堂和训练场所，给队员上课和解答问题， 为教练们提供教学帮助和技术咨询。学生教练Alyssa Tang, Shanshan Ye和Katherine Chen坚持每周日给队员上课，她们寓教于乐的教课方式受到了队员们的喜爱。学科竞赛队的教练们更是无偿付出，一年来既要帮助队员学习提高，又要调动同学的学习积极性，每周三次，雷打不动。部分学生家长也为这次的年赛，付出了时间和劳动。我们在此向大家致谢！
