Tips on flying from Atlanta

Good afternoon,

If you're attending the ACS meeting in Atlanta, you may have heard about ridiculously long lines at ATL TSA (routinely over 2 hours this week, close to 4 hours early this morning).  The wait times listed on https://www.atl.com/times/ are NOT accurate (+ the website is down most of the time).  MyTSA app is also NOT accurate (just says >60 min).

The hack I found through Reddit is to go to the international terminal and go through TSA there (either take uber directly there (~ 15-20 min) or take MARTA to domestic + airport shuttle to international (~ 45 min total from downtown)).

It took me 10 min to pass through TSA today around 10:30 am + another 10 min to take a shuttle to Terminal B.  I was at the gate 2.5 hours before my flight (that never happened before unless connecting).

The possible downside is if you have luggage, only Delta has the dropoff at International (but I am guessing everybody flying ATL-MSP is doing Delta anyway).
