Just wanted to share this with some of you guys out there and to see if
I am the only one having these problems.

I am the IT Manager for a Company located in Shakopee. I ordered a ISDN
line here since DSL, or Cable was not available at the time. The ISDN is
working great and we have had it pretty close to a year I would assume.

My next thing was that I wanted to set up some remote access to the
network here. This meant that I need to purchase some Static IP's from
qwest. No big deal right!!??

Well, I called and they said I had to be an Office Works Customer, just
an upgrade to there qwest.net service. I agreed and told them to upgrade
me. This took place on October 26. This request still has not been done.
I called once or twice a week since I put this order in, and I get a
differnt tech person everytime. I give them m,y case number, etc. They
had it so screwed up, my account said that I have a 56K connection, and
that I am a regular dial customer....I argue that I have ISDN, they said
NO YOU DON'T!!! I told them that I am connected through ISDN as we
speak. They stil insisted I was not. So I gave them my Spid numbers,
then they beleived me....I went through 45 minute call, and they said
it would be fixed in 24-28 hours. So 48 hours I check, still not
done....I continue to call a few times a week, and I even spoke to the
supervisor a few times, and he guarenteed me that it would be working in
48 hours for sure....well its been 3 more calls, over 45 minutes each,
and its still NOT FIXED!!! They finally go tme setup as Office Works,
but not I am not a ISDN customer again!!!

All of this work for some damn static IPs!!! I have had it with Qwest,
but I will have to stick it out...the ISDN line has been great, but if I
need anything done....FORGET IT!!!!

I'll keep you posted on how many more weeks, months, or years this takes
before I get my 8 static ips!!!

Yeah, just because you need Qwest to supply the ISDN line doesn't
mean you need to use them for your ISP. However, one thing you
might try, if you don't want to switch ISP's, is a dynamic-dns
service, like the one I'm using - dyndns.org (there's a number
of different ones). It won't be able to replace 8 routed IP
addresses, but, with a dynamic dns address, and some creative
port-mapping, might be good enough. (I'd still recommend going
with a real ISP, however).
