Where's the best if price is no object?
Where's the best if price is a concern?

Uhh, Mcdonald's? Cattle Company? I don't know.
Actually there's this new place down here in Burnsville called the Roadhouse
Grill that has a pretty good steak dinner. They have awesome sweet potatoes
anyway.
Since someone has already changed the subject from prime ribs to steak,
AFAIK the best steak is at Lindey's in Arden Hills. Lindey's makes me think
of The Soup Nazi for some reason.

Agreed. The place right behind it, the Dakota Steakhouse in the Holiday
Inn is also very good. I had a great prime rib there a few months ago.
Also, the prime rib on the train out of stillwater is fantastic.

I just came from Jensen's Supper Club in Eagan (Hwy 13 and Cedar). Pass.

"Only the pure of heart can make a good soup." Ludwig van Beethoven
Jensen's has an *awesome* walleye dinner. [dunno 'bout their steaks]
I had a bite of my husband's walleye. I thought it was flavorless.
Believe it or not, one of the best walleye dinners I've eaten was at --
are you ready?--- Cracker Barrel in Lakeville! Honest to God.
First time I ate walleye at Tavern on Grand, it was good. Last two
times it was mediocre.
YMMV.

Tequilaberry's in Coon Rapids probably used to have the best... well
at least the most, since it's all-you-can-eat up the loft. Their
service seems to have suffered a bit, and their prices are high now.

I consistently get cheap, delicious prime rib at Arone's Bar, on East
Hennepin and 5th(?) St. $7.99 for prime rib, includes salad, and a
baked potato, and a bread roll. They have very good au jus sauce.

They must have been having a bad day. I had an awesome chunk

Yes, I've never thought of Nye's as a place for steaks, prime rib or
otherwise.
On the other hand, The Little Oven in St. Paul, on Minnehaha at White
Bear Ave., used to (and may still have) an all-you-can-eat prime rib
night on Fridays that I thought was a good deal.
For atmosphere, nothing can beat Stockmen's truck stop, at 494 &
Hardman, South St. Paul, and their all-you-can-eat steak dinner on
Saturdays that they call "The Mongo."

I imagine that Jax's Cafe in Nord'East Mpls has quite good prime rib. Their
huge parking lot at 19th Av NE and University Av NE is always full during
the evenings.

For lunch in Nord'East on Fridays only, Elsie's Restaurant has a prime rib
lunch special for about $6. They run out so don't go late, best to be there
at 11:30AM for a booth. I choose an end cut for an awesome flavorful hunk.
They also have NE local brew, Page lager on tap at $9/pitcher if you don't
have to go back to work. Marshall @ 8th Av (over the Plymouth Av bridge),
big parking lot.
For dinner, all you can eat prime rib, well maybe I should say roast beef,
at Old Country Buffet for $8!! Where can you go and get roast beef, spinach
salad, grated carrot salad, pineapple and melon, chicken noodle soup, mashed
potatoes, corn, carrot cake, and beverage all for $8??
Hey! maybe I am cherry picking for the best stuff here. A little slice of
Minnesota at the Ol' Country has much more to suit your fancy.

...as did I a few years ago. Also, Casper's Cherokee Sirloin Room in
Eagan has good prime rib, but the quality does occasionally vary. Once
I received a prime rib that was very dry. Most other times it was
wonderfully moist :)

Anyone remember the short-lived Brandyberry's in Bloomington?
Same all you can eat prime rib, plus a fantastic salad that I have
yet to see duplicated anywhere else.
While out driving around a week or two ago, I drove past a place
on Coon Rapids Blvd up near Anoka that was called something simple
like "Prime Rib House" or the like. I thought I saw a logo on the
sign that looked a lot like a Tequilaberry or Brandyberry logo.
Another sign said all you can eat prime rib. Anyone know what this
is? I will mosey up there sometime in the near future and check
it out, despite it being a long way from home.

Tequilaberry's has a fantastic house salad, it takes will power of
iron not to eat the generous serving before you are served your prime
rib. The bread and baked potato are easy to pick at, but the salad is
absolutely delicious.
(Obviously they want you to fill up with plenty of salad, baked
potato, and bread, to minimize the number of helpings of prime rib you
ask for.)

The Vineyard is up near there, I think... Could even be north of
Anoka. I heard good things about that place.

Must be some prime rib competition in that area!

Hi ya Andy.....thanx for the laff! You like sugar in your
salad dressing? I make a mean FRENCH dressing that has a
ton of it. LOL You might like to make a salad that uses
spinach, strawberries, and are you ready for
this?...........Poppycock, nuts and all. Make a sweet
and sour dressing to drizzle over the top (I even use some
peanut butter in it) and voila! T'is GREAT.
