Your MN-GRIN Coordinating Committee got busy and forgot to update our website and send out a meeting invite for tomorrow.
We have decided to move the meeting to next Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. to allow you time to plan accordingly. Our presenter will be John A. Jensen from Hennepin County.

SUBJECT: Hennepin County has been working on a multi-year project to transition its retention schedules from department-based to function-based. There are a few different ways to do this work from surveys, purchasing software, hiring outside consultants, to meeting with department subject matter experts. This presentation will demonstrate the meet and greet method of updating records retention schedules. Our speaker will provide information on Hennepin County’s records retention scheduling plan, project focus, process steps, and share how the county has setup the activities in teams and the draft schedule template.
SPEAKER: John A. Jensen
SPEAKER BIO: John A. Jensen is the County Records Coordinator at Hennepin County. His work in this role includes partnering with departments across the county on their records management projects, ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies, and managing the county’s shredding and records storage contracts. He’s maintained a Certified Records Manager certificate for the past five years and has 9 years’ experience in the field. He regularly participates in several records management groups, trainings, and professional development. Outside of work, you’ll find John fishing (especially ice), practicing his guitar, playing disc golf, and going on weekend road trips with his wife Melissa and 2-year-old black lab Oliver.
