We would like to get a little feedback from the club.

What we are interested in knowing is what topics you would like to see presented at our meetings.

·        Technical topics

·        Operating

·        Building

·        Etc.

We would also like to hear about your electronic projects.

So, please give us a little feedback to help plan for upcoming meetings.

 Thanks & 73,

Steve - NW0C

Steve,

Since  I'm pretty new to actual hamming ( as opposed to dreaming about it), I'm interested on a lot of the technical and nuts and bolts stuff.

Right now, I'd be interested in a discussion about how to put up and tune antennas. I now have 2 mangled dipoles (15 and 20), and I'm thinking about more.

My situation is  unusual, and I'm not doing most anything 'right'

I have them strung up in the ceiling joists, and I hold the wire up with cup hooks, electrician's nail in clips, and some large zip ties. The ends are tied down witth string. But they're pretty much out of the weather, and I found an interweb site that showed how to calculate the voltages at the ends. If I did it right, the max voltage is less than 5v with my mighty 5W.

So, I'd like to here what everybody's doing and how they adjust the length. In my case, I was able to set them up inside and get pretty close with a nano.

I'm also curious about a couple of things
 - I've heard that as hams, we are responsible for insuring that our BaoFengs, Xiegus, and KWM1s are in spec as far as harmonics, spurs and the like. This is supposed to be the rule even if the commercial equipment is causing the problem,

I've also wondered if anybody is doing anything to calibrate their test equipment. I know I haven't done a thing to the Fluke 77 that retired with me or the older Tek 4 channel digital TDS 2000? . I know that stuff routinely is good now as opposed to the drift you'd get in the 60's. But I wonder if there are things anyone is doing.

Sorry to ramble on, but one last thought. I wonder if the folks that held court on some of the finer points of digital oscilloscopes might do something with a little intro and some question and answers.

That's it, I would say that I'd be glad to do another presentation, but I think that I've shown the depths of my ignorance

I second all of Harry’s ideas and add my interest in gaining more (some?) practical knowledge of solar influence(s) on HF propagation.

Steve,
I especially like technical topics even when I doubt I will ever pursue them.
My Fox Hunting preperations are continuing and at this point a 2 meter transmitter operating and a 2 meter ground plane antenna.  I will bring this stuff to the next meeting.
