Term Paper Theme 4: Work Evaluation for Equipment Supply Type of
Contract
You are a newly employed engineer with JQP International Engineering
Group. Your compny has recently won a large tender from the Government
of Kenya to supply engineering equipment to all Public Universities
and Colleges that offer Engineering. You wish to perform to the
satisfaction of the Kenya Government so that you can be recommended to
supply of materials for a large oil pipeline contract between south
Sudan and the new port of Lamu at the Kenyan coast. You are a newly
employed engineer from MMUST as Assistant Engineer I. If you do not
impress your boss who is a very strict and serious engineer from Saudi
Arabia, your job is at stake. You have been requested to analyze the
main activities that will be involved in this type of contract so that
you advise the company on the most efficient way of executing this
contract. Hint: Carry out a work evaluation under work study and time
study; First draw out a supply schedule indicating the main activities
and the planned timelines for this type of contract, Assume the
contract is to last for exactly 9 months. Then categorize these
activities into those that can cause delay, operations, inspections,
transport and storage. use appropriate symbols and professional NVA
charts. Then make conclusions and suggestions on arears that should be
focussed upon to tmely completion of such as project.
