Hello All,

Let’s say I take a photo somewhere but then take it into my head to change the date and time at which the photo was taken. "It can’t have been me guv, I was on the beach when the murder was done. Here’s a photo with the date and time.”

It’s really easy to change the date and time in Photos. But is the original date and time preserved somewhere within the file and can it be accessed?

Yours,

Patrick Neame

(Disclaimer! This is a purely intellectual question, I have not and am not planning to kill anyone.)

I think ‘Revert’ might well put it back. However if you exported the photo then deleted the original and reimported the photo it would then have the modified metadata.
Of course you’d have to delete all the backups the original photo was in
Pure speculation and in no way intended to assist with anything illegal
