Hello all,
I’m on the look out for a fairly basic iPhone for my daughter if anyone is thinking of upgrading. An 8 or similar would be fine, unlocked and not a big one, she’s only got little hands.

Hi Patrick,
Probably best to get an XS or higher as that’ll probably be the minimum that the next version of iOS will require.

If your daughter has small hands I would say get an iPhone mini. But if using 2-handed all the time then any size is fine. Mini is my preference as my hands are fairly small (size 8 in latex surgical gloves & found X,XS and Pro phones too heavy & slippery for one-handed use). My wife, one d-in-law and one sister have minis by preference. Alternatively I have an old iPhone SE from when it was small which I was using for a volunteer role until 2 weeks ago (now have a dog slow “modern” Motorola which is just bad). The iPhone SE can only run IOS 15.7.8 but security updates regular (last one this week). Not come across standard Apps that don’t run. But I expect Dilip will have wider / better choice.

Yes, iPhone mini is my 'daily driver' too.
Most of the over 40's in my extended family prefer the smaller iPhones (minis and SE's).
It's the under 40's that like the HUGE Plus and Max iPhones !

I tried a Plus phone a few years ago to try and replace an iPhone (iPhone 5 ?) and an iPad mini but it didn't work for me so now I use a 12 mini and an iPad mini every day - I even drive a MINI __ !

I tried the smaller 40mm and larger 44mm watches and opted for the larger one.
