Hi
About a year ago, I got quite excited when voice calls on my Iphone suddenly came through on my mac. Quite fond of that as the sound is good and it enabled me to access stuff on my Mac during a call (especially if it was boring!)

Just recently, it only works if I remember to first connect to my Mac device manually. It disconnects if I switch off or just go out of range with the phone.  If I don’t it still rings in on the Mac, but if I click “Accept”it cuts the call off.

What I am doing wrong ?
Kind Regards
Jack

My 2013 Mac is set up with a MobilMe account while my iPad/Phone are on iCloud. Thus emails to one particular financial institution are rejected from my iPad and have to be sent from my Mac because they don’t have the iCloud mail server registered.

Might there be something similar going on here?

Jack,
Dig around & find out where to turn that feature off. I think it’s may be part of ‘Handoff' but I really haven’t kept up to date with iOS & Mac OS so might be wrong. There also seems like there might be a 'Calls on other devices’ setting too. Use the search in settings app.

I'd reboot everything. Turn on the feature again (probably on iOS) & test.

Maybe unpair & re-pair Bluetooth from the device to the Mac. It’s also a Wi-Fi feature so make sure they are both on the same local network.
You might have issues if your mic is in use I guess so maybe test with no other apps running if you use the mic/ sound preferences elsewhere.

Ugh, phone calls. I’d just give up & be grateful it's broken to be honest :^)

Patrick,
You know that you could add the @icloud or @mobileme or @mac.com address as an 'alias' so you can send from any of those addresses on any device?
Mail has help on the topic I think. iOS has settings for which aliases to enable, you should then have a popup to select an alias when sending a message.

I don’t think it relates to Jacks phone/ Mac issue to be honest.

Thanks, Drew, as always it looks a good plan and I’ll try all that over the weekend
Kind Regards

Yes, blame it on inertia!
