Anyone know how to get Google street view in the Google app on the
iPhone? It will go to streetview for specified locations, but it uses
the 'orange person icon' on the pin to switch views, is there any way
to do it without the pin?

Here's a test url to see what I mean.

No, the only way is with a pin. But you can drop a pin anywhere you
want if it helps?

Derek,
As far as I know, it's the same as the other handsets. Calls still only work over Wifi. I haven't seen an update from Skype to allow calls over 3G.

many thanks dom,

i spoke to a rogers rep {our iphone carrier}, and all she wanted to talk about was the fact rogers will be rolling out 3g across the country during 2010!!

however, i heard a rumour that skype was planning 3g usage for it's software {not just for the iphone}, but again this may have been conjecture...

Skype works very well over wifi on a 3G or 3GS froma wifi hotspot.  Use it a lot to talk to my offspring when they are abroad.
