Hello fellow Toastmasters,
When I first started Toastmasters, I dread speaking in front of the room. At first it was nerve wracking. Preparing for it several days before our meeting and up to the day of the event, I was pretty scared. However, I knew why I came there and what I had to do. I just did it.
Having given the time to do the speech was an honor and I treated it as if it was the utmost importance and gave that day a priority in my life. I thought to myself at that time, "It should be since this is your future you are building".
By having the opportunity to speak at Toastmasters, I was able to do more in my occupation and in turn increased my income dramatically. I was no longer afraid of what people thought about me or how I spoke. I had overcome my own internal demons and grew more confident each day. The more roles I took on that was unfamiliar to me, the more I expanded my comfort zone.
As I progress in MoneyMasters, I noticed that what once was uncomfortable became exciting and fun. I actually look forward to every speaking opportunity today. Why? Because I want to give back and share my experience and results that came out of taking that first speech.
I challenge you to grow, expand your comfort zone and grab the bulls by the horn. Remember your comfort zone determines your income zone. Why let your comfort zone control your income?
You can reserve speeches in the future by letting me, the VP of Education or other officers know. The easiest way would be to signing into Easy-Speak website and go to the request speech section:
It is very important that everyone use Eas-Speak moving forward to decrease the time it takes for the officers to put into managing this club.
Can everyone use Easy-Speak and either Accept or Not accept the roles for the upcoming week by Monday of each week?
For those who are unable to do their speech and yet did not let us know early on, this takes away the time and availability for those that could have used the time for their speech.
Let's all work together to help improve our game in the game of life. I am a mentor and can make myself available for those that need assistance with crafting a speech or better understand the roles.
