Resort night fishing

Hello all,

We are in the process of finalising a status report on reef fisheries as a preliminary to producing a Management Plan and as part of this are trying to quantify total annual harvest. The main end use is for the resort catering but there are other uses too e.g. local household consumption and recreational fishing.

We are currently looking at night fishing and have data from 12 of the 107 resorts (many thanks to those of you who have sent in information). We would like to improve on this and would be most grateful for your help.

The information we need is very basic:

1.        Does your resort offer night fishing trips:  Yes or No

If Yes:

a)        How many trips are offered per week
b)        What is the maximum number of guests on each trip

If you have any other observations then please do send them along.

Hi Liz,

 

Our third party Dive Centre at Dusit Thani Maldives, Baa atoll offers night fishing 3 x a week. However, additional private trips can also be booked and are currently very popular. 10 pax maximum per fishing trip.

Apologies for the delay in response, I have recently taken over the marine biologist position here and have been going through all the unopened emails. 

We do not conduct night fishing trips at Six Senses Laamu. We do run early morning and sunset fishing trips, which involve private boat hire.
