Another family in town with a Princeton parent (same class as me I think) decided to support the older middle schooler in a search for a mentor in computer stuff, and after sifting through many sources, my name came up.

I met Tim at his dad Todd at a Coffee People, now Thai Bistro on Hawthorne, open Xmas.

I was Tim's Saturday Academy instructor in the classroom, but also a guide for him in Cyberia (cyberspace).  He served as a sounding board while he worked on an advanced computer project for his school (a private Catholic academy).

I lost track of Tim for awhile but when he resurfaced he was really interested in the concept of a "Carrot Mob", the opposite of a boycott in a lot of ways.  Instead of refusing to buy a good or service, you flood a target with a show of brand loyalty (but not in a way that locks them up [1]).

The target this time:  Hotlips Pizza.

Yes, Tim Bauman was my student.  He had another name for himself, Ki Master George (KMG), which I used in a blog post once or twice:

I believe he actually interned for the Carrot Mob HQS (Bay Area?) one summer when attending Princeton.  I hope to catch up with him someday.  Great folks.  I see the mom at Princeton parties sometimes.
