Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz
No PCASC general meeting this Wednesday
In a rare Portland appearance, the long-time anti-imperialist, feminist, peoples' historian and Indigenous rights activist Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz will speak at several public events in town.
In "An Indigenous Peoples’ History of the United States," Dunbar-Ortiz challenges the founding myth of the United States and shows how policy against the indigenous people was genocidal and imperialist—designed to crush the original inhabitants. Spanning more than 300 years, this bottom-up history significantly re-frames how we view our past. Told from the viewpoint of the indigenous, it reveals how Native Americans, for centuries, actively resisted expansion of the US Empire.
PCASC is sponsoring the event at PSU's Native American Student and Community Center at 6 p.m. on February 18.

COMING SOON:
The Immigrants' Rights Committee is finalizing dates for the upcoming Race, Immigration and Policing class. Open to the Public! It's a 6-week once a week course that will start in April. Keep your eyes peeled for more details!
