simple question, Can MMM 2.0.9 send email notify to me as MMM 1.2.6 do ?

Dear friends,

I am now trying to setup MMM 2.09 , which I am not very familiar as
MMM1.X.

I found in the pdf document, there is no parameters like email
notify :
here is which I use in MMM 1.2.6
log mytraps
file /usr/local/mmm/var/mmm-traps.log
level trap
email to...@XXX.com

email notify
from_address mmm_c...@example.com
from_name MMM Control


How to setup email notify in MMM2.0.X ?
or MMM2.X think this is obsolete and shut this function down ?

or need we change the file "./lib/Common/Log.pm" manually ?

Hi Tomas,

MMM 2.x sends all FATAL messages per mail to user "root". You could
either redirect these messages (and all other mail to root) to another
user/address (with /etc/aliases) or create a custom logging
configuration for MMM (see
http://mysql-mmm.org/mysql-mmm.html#SEC53)

Thank you Pascal. but as my observation, if a writer role change from
one master db to another,
it will not send notify emails, I also try to stop slave process on
one master db, the status changed in MMM_control show command,
But I do not get replication failure mail notification also...

Is there someway to change the notification level so that I can get
those kind of notification while MMM change status of DBs or detect
some error ?

Thanks a lot Dear Walter,

I change the file of Log.pm, to add more mail notification while
writing debug informations,

but strange thing is I need to restart the monitor to get thoses
notification mails, if I do not recycle the monitor,
no email sent to me .

I am not sure how to set up log4perl also, can you give me more
hints?
Need I find all log4perl in the source code and add something to let
it send mail ?
