"Sonny's Blues" is a interesting short story. Sonny and his brother
seem to be trying to escape something from their childhood. Sonny
uses drugs as a way to escape. Sonny ends up getting arrested for
selling and possessing herorein. he spends time in prison then
reunites with his brother.

Sonny's blues is a cool story. I think it shows how a man addicted
drugs tries to change his life and get out of the ghetto. His brother
is the good one in the story, who goes to school and becomes a
teacher. He also stays in the ghetto for some reason. I think sonny
uses blues also to help him escape from the bad. The man was a great
blues musician. I think sonny wants to show his brother that he can do
something with his life without using drugs.

It seems that hey are tring to get rid of something that has happened
in their childhood and they both try and escape it in different ways.
One tries to escape by using drugs such as heroin and the other uses
music and art. The drug user gets put in jail and the other becomes a
great person and lives.

Sonny is escaping from drugs and music, his brother is escaping from
education. They are not successful at all

at that time of age. in the story the brothers are living in a
corrupted life where violence and drugs are very active and easily
able to get sucked into that life. The brothers try to get away from
that life by turning to music. only sonny is successful but playing
piano and actually enjoying it. music is a way to get them to escape
from that corrupted life and be successful with the tools they have.
