We've already looked at regionalist writers Twain and Harte. Now we
move up north for a look at New England farm life in "The Revolt of
Mother."

What issues arise in this short story? Did anything surprise you?
What qualities do these New England farmers seem to possess?

In this story that people in the stroy are very homey type of people.
These people are hard wrokers and love to be with family. The mother
of the family is a person that seems to be very materialistic and that
shows alot about the character in the story. The father of the storty
is a man that is about the land is about making the family able to
survive and to strive for more. The father of the story goes and puts
the surplus of maney that they have into the farm so that if anything
ever happens to where they will have enough to eat and also enough to
survive. I really didn't like this story the most but it was put to
together really well. -Malone
